Join Our Volunteer Team

Our shelter is primarily run by our volunteers. They are the backbone to every operation we do here at the shelter. Volunteers need to be 18 years old at the time of the orientation.

Volunteers are expected to commit 10 hours a month to the shelter (8 of which will be scheduled, you will be expected to show up for your shift).
We do not credit volunteer hours for school or community service.
During training all volunteers will need to learn how to care for dogs/cats and clean.
Volunteers must be able to commit to at least 6 months .

We do charge an initial fee of $25 which includes applicant background check, and once approved, volunteer t-shirt and training.

Volunteering is a wonderful way for you to help the animals but it is not for everyone. If you are interested in attending an orientation please let us know by sending an email to volunteer@sunnyskysshelter.org.

If you want to know of more ways to help but can't commit to volunteering let us know as well and we will be happy to try and find a way for you to give back too:) If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We look forward to meeting you!
